The annual car show that so many have enjoyed in the past will follow the same formula that has been used before, and the basic set-up in Dorchester Park is essentially unchanged.

The classic car show will take place on the lower field along Adams Street from 10 AM until 2 PM. Free registration for the car show opens at 8 AM, and awards will be presented shortly after 2 PM. Family Fun Day activities start in the upper field at noon and finish at 4 PM. The food court connects the two areas, with coffee available for purchase earlier in the morning, and food starting later around noon. Families are also welcome to bring their own picnic food. Free horse and buggy rides will travel along the tranquil paths of the park during the afternoon.

Parking is available on local streets as well as in the back lot of the Carney Hospital, where there is also an entrance directly into the back of the park.

Remember, admission and participation for the whole day is free.

Dorchester Park’s Adams Street entrance is easily reached from Route 93 as well as from the Red Line’s Mattapan Trolley stations at Butler Street or Cedar Grove.

Exit 11 from 93 N and Exit 11-B from 93 S both end on Granite Avenue heading towards Ashmont. Take a left at the second light onto Milton Street and then the first left onto Adams Street. The Adams Street entrance to the park is about 0.3 miles from Milton Street, across from Cedar Grove Cemetery and close to Irena Road.

Note that there are 2 main entrances into Dorchester Park. The official address is 2174 Dorchester Avenue, but the Adams Street entrance is used for the day’s events. This entrance is about halfway between the Butler Street and Cedar Grove Stations of the Red Line. Maps at both of these T stations show Dorchester Park.

Please see the accompanying maps and list of activities to plan a day that anyone can enjoy.

Thanks to our friends at the IBEW and the Carpenter’s Center for their generous help in using their electronic signs along the expressway for advertising this exciting community event.
